While the main thrust of the game would appear to be primarily about building rockets and other vehicles capable of space flight and launching them into the perilous and unforgiving vacuum of the cosmos, the game actually promises a rather impressive and well-rounded simulation of a real-life space program. Originally launched in 2011 by indie developer Squad, Kerbal Space Program (KSP) charges players with spearheading a fledgling space program not unlike NASA on a planet not unlike Earth, except that this planet is called Kerbin and is inhabited by an oddly cute race of green humanoids called Kerbals. So it’s understandable that the majority of videogames that involve space travel tend to gloss over its most rudimentary aspects in the interest of fun after all, who wants to be held back from kicking ass and exploring the galaxy as Commander Sheppard in Mass Effect when they don’t know how to execute a proper lift-off sequence from the surface of a planet? Kerbal Space Program dares to be different, however. It will probably still be hard for most regular human beings to wrap their heads around even 50 years from now. Do you ever wonder why people still use that tired old phrase “It’s not rocket science” when they’re trying to explain that something is simple to understand? Well, the short answer is that it’s completely relevant today: rocket science is hard. That’s a bit harsh as the MBA has been OK but the iMAC has been a low grade headache with migraine spikes since day one. I figure that will give me 2 more years for each and probably by that time they won’t be supported by Apple anyway, and I’ll say good riddance to both. My plan, FWIW, is to just install Monterey on my iMAC and MBA, both of which are mid 2017 models. Long story short, be prepared to be unable to install Big Sur and being forced to install Monterey. That makes it sound like it took 10 minutes, but it took more like an hour. Then tried to install Catalina, and it went right in. After getting back from the emergency room being treated for blood loss from banging my head against a brick wall, and being an obstinate you know what, I tried twice more. Tried a few more times on the iMAC at various times of day, etc., making sure I had trashed any previously downloaded files, emptying the trash, and then shutting down and starting. Tried downloading to a Windows computer and to a Linux computer. Tried downloading it to another MAC and transferring it to the iMAC with a flash drive. I thought maybe I just had a corrupt download so I trashed it and tried again. dmg file downloaded but wouldn’t install. Tried Safari and the link came alive but again, IIRC, the Mojave. I tried to do that from Firefox and the link was totally dead. I found an Apple web site that claimed I could download Mojave and then install it. Ha! The icon was basically non functional I don’t remember whether it was basically a dead link or whether I got some kind of error message, but in any case it was worthless. In Launchpad I had the “Install Mojave” icon so I thought I’d be all set to do what I wanted. I had intended to upgrade to Mojave (the next step up just as Big Sur is the next step up from Catalina). This doesn’t really answer your question about safety, but I was in an analogous situation with an iMAC running High Sierra.

This is a great serenity prayer tattoo idea for anyone that wants to place the tattoo on their lower arm or shoulder since that wrapping effect looks very good in those locations. It also has the added benefit of drawing the eye since most people will recognize the words as being important if they are on that old paper.Īdditionally, the script can be designed on a banner, often wrapping around a crucifix. A cool effect that many people go with is the aged scroll, which clearly shows that you have wise words on your skin and that a lot of people believe in those words. The prayer is often rendered on a scroll or parchment, which illustrates the ancient wisdom of the words, finding peace in times of unease. Of course, it is very important to know the meanings for all of these elements before you decide to add them into your design. All of these can be added into your serenity prayer tattoo to give the tattoo a bit more meaning and to give your tat a unique look. Wings, doves, and other birds add a sense of liberation from anger and frustration, the key message of the prayer. Crucifixes are commonly used, enhancing the focus on the word of God. Praying hands, with or without a rosary, work well with the prayer. It also helps to emphasize that your tattoo is a religious tattoo and can make the meaning of the words a bit clearer to people who do not recognize them right away. This allows for a more fluid appearance rather than having a large or bulky font competing with a large background image. Larger Christian insignia is sometimes added to the design as well, often when the script used appears smaller or thinner. For example, every flower in the world has at least one meaning attached to it, so you can personalize your design by choosing a flower that highlights one of your traits. What’s pretty cool about this is that you can even add in more meaning to the tattoo by choosing specific images and symbols to include. Small, intricate details like interlacing knots or floral designs are sometimes added serenity prayer tattoos to create a fuller and more complex image. However, it can also work on the arm or the leg, though you have to be a bit more creative with your layout in those cases. This is especially true when people choose to get the tattoo on a larger area of their bodies, such as the back or the chest. The serenity prayer tattoo is usually separated into six or more lines with each highlighted word placed on its own. However, capitalizing those words does seem to be an effective way of making the mantra stand out. Again, there isn’t a single “right” way of designing this mantra, so it really does come down to personal tastes. Often, the three words, sometimes God as well, are capitalized or rendered in a larger or more decorative font in order to emphasize the importance of their meaning. Serenity, courage, and wisdom are usually highlighted in some way in the design of serenity prayer tattoos. Keep in mind that there are a couple different “official” versions of the passage, so there really isn’t one truly accurate way of getting these words tattooed on your skin. The text used in serenity prayer tattoos is completely up to the person getting the tattoo, but in most cases people decide to stick to the accurate passage as much as they can. There are different versions of the prayer that vary from the original in minor ways however, each version conveys the same message. In both cases people use those words to give them the confidence to approach everything with a clear mind. In some ways it can be seen as a different kind of highly religious tattoo, while in another way it can be seen as more of a personal mantra that people use. Three significant concepts are addressed in the prayer, making it an invaluable Christian mantra that is recited to evoke patience and understanding. Obviously that is a pretty long text tattoo, but plenty of people get the entire mantra tattooed on their skin to show how important it has been in their lives. The well-known prayer of serenity was written by a devout theologian in the early 20th century and reads as “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference”. Below we will take a look at what these serenity tattoos mean and a few of the ways that you can get them designed on your skin. These are a collection of tattoo designs are meant to bring the famous mantra and prayer to life in tattoo form.
